Check For Recalls On Daylight Savings To Save Lives
Sunday, March 12 is daylight
saving time and families everywhere will be turning
the clock forward and checking other safety essentials around the
house, like changing smoke detector batteries. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA would like you to encourage you to also check your vehicle for open recalls.
After you update the clocks, remember to visit the vet to get
your pets started on flea and tick preventatives.
Use the NHTSA’s VIN Look-Up tool on NHTSA.gov at least
twice a year to see if any of your vehicles are under a recall. To
help remember, time the recall check with daylight saving time—every
March when setting clocks forward and every November when setting
Sunday, March 12 between 1-4 pm, NHTSA will host a #CheckForRecalls Tweet Up to chat about the latest recalls and safety campaigns. Follow the conversation using the hashtag #CheckForRecalls and they will respond to as many questions and comments as they can!
